Safety is one of the biggest concerns of the board of the Scout centre's foundation. We put in a lot of hours to make it a safe and healthy place.
The farmhouse.
There are several safety measurements in the farmhouse. One of the most important ones is the fire-alarm. it can be set of automatically or manually. When done so a loud alarm sounds and all doors will be automatically unlocked. All the fire-extinguishers are being checked from time to time and the fire department has given it's approval for use of the accommodation. Floor plans have been put up all around the building. Furthermore there are smoke-detectors and 2 emergency exits witch can be unlocked at all times.
Smoking upstairs is not allowed and we prefer you do not smoke in rooms where children play.
The cabins.
The cabins have their own fire-extinguishers. smoking is allowed but again we prefer you do not smoke in rooms where children play or sleep.
The toilet building.
The toilet building has a fire hose in each room. Furthermore the water is legionella free because of a new heating system. A report is available on request. (e-mail to the webmaster)
First-aid.
The wardens and some staff is trained in first-aid and taking life saving action. However, we prefer each visiting group to have at least one person who is certified to perform first-aid.
There is a calamity plan for the Scout centre. It is only available in Dutch. You'll find it at the download page.
Furthermore you will find fire blankets in the kitchens.
