Campsite rules

All campsites have some rules and naturly the Scout centre Rotterdam has them as well. Because there are often two or more groups at the centre and we have some neighbours it is necessary that all visitors obey these rules.

  1. You are very welcome at the Scout Centre. You have the use of the camping area, play area and the toilet and shower block. On arrival please report to reception and we would appreciate it if foreign groups would provide us with a list of names, addresses and dates of birth of all members of party.
  2. There are purpose-built fireplaces for outdoor cooking and the Warden will show you where to obtain your firewood.
  3. Campers using the kitchen are responsible for their own food hygiene.
  4. Waste disposal bags for all your rubbish are available from the Warden and when full should be deposited in the dustbins. Please keep glass separate.
  5. Digging holes is not allowed on the campsite. Please do not dig draining channels around the tents.
  6. Play equipment and pioneering materials are available by arrangement with the Warden.
  7. It is possible to organize a campfire but please consult the Warden first who will show you the site and where to get your wood. The site must be made good after the campfire.
  8. The hay barn is available for wet weather use.
  9. The private accommodation in the farm and the grounds around the house and the group houses is OFF-LIMITS to campers. In cases of emergency, the party leader may use the telephone.
  10. The opening hours of the Scout Centre shop are displayed at the entrance. The shop does not sell sweets, lemonade, ice cream, etc.
  11. Please respect the rule of silence between the hours of 23.00 and 07.00. If you need to enter or leave the campsite during these hours, please make the necessary arrangements with the Warden beforehand.
  12. Dormitory regulations:
    a. No open fires.
    b. Do not move the beds.
    c. No smoking.
    d. Emergency lighting must be kept ON at all times.
  13. There are mattresses but you will need to bring your own bedding.
  14. All areas used by your group must be left clean and tidy and any loss, damage or breakage must be paid for.
  15. If you have any queries or problems, please contact the Warden.
  16. On leaving, please remember Baden-Powell's words that you should leave nothing behind but your thanks.
