A few words from Cayla... Officially, today is the last day I worked in Scout Centrum Rotterdam, I will be in Paris next week. It’s quite sad to see all the tents in the kampstaf site are gradually gone, which means, everybody is leaving for their real life. Look back these past five weeks, I really have a lot in my mind. From the deep bottom of my heart, I appreciate all the summerstaff (without “s”!) who have taught, instructed me, talked to me in English (or even Chinese!), showed me around Netherlands or shared the Dutch culture, scouting and spirit with me. I have to admit that it is never easy for a foreigner who knows no local language at all to live here for more than a month, no mention to work here. However, I think I did it. I don’t really know what people think about me being here, but I know that I really enjoy being with you dutch people, the managers, the summerstaff as well as the visiting troops. I am glad that I have chosen here as the start point to experience Europe, the scout centrum is like my second home already. It is great that I have so many dutch friends; not so many Taiwanese have so many crazy, kind, hilarious dutch friends! Perhaps we are just passengers in each other’s life, but I know that everyone I met here has already placed an important spot in my life. Well, hope we can stay in touch in the future! Tot Ziens! Good luck to you, my friends! With a million thanks, Cayla (Chen Tzu-yi) |
