Venture trip
The East Fingles venture troop went on an awesome trip to another Dutch campsite in Ommen. From Monday 27th July till Thursday 30th July. Unfortunally we did not see the newspaper so we decided to tell you all about our adventure and what an adventure it was. Monday 27th up nice and early. Set the tents down and packed up for our trip. It took 2 metro trains to reach Rotterdam and 1 of us managed to get stuck in the ticket turnster. We then got 3 more trains and after a wee walk we arrived at our destination. After our site was given to us we proceeded to make our campsite. With our tents pitched we decided to do a bit of shopping. With the dinner bought we headed back to the site and proceeded to warm pasta, mince and bolonaise sauce. Athony had curry sauce much to. While dinner was being cooked we all tried and failed to make a H frame table. We had a good go of it but it did not work. Eating was done at the campfire. With the washing done we then sat around the fire and toasted marshmallows. Word of warning, sour apple strips and marshmallows toasted does not do well for the nose. Headed to bed and a fresh start for the next day. Tuesday 28th: bit of a lie on which was greeted by all apart from Eoin and Athony who gone to take the milk. Although a croissant was good for the walk back. With breakfast done and everything cleaned it was off for a dip in the local swimming pool. Had great fun on the diving board and slide. After a wee swim we headed into the town for some lunch. Wiener schnitzel is a smashing mael. After we got back a spot of river swimming on the back of the site went down well. Some people felt a shower was not needed but one was had by all. Out to the town for pizza. Hazel, you know what you did!!!! And it still hurts. After dinner we went to the carnival and had a good time. Athony nearly got a smack of flying chair and then nearly got sick on the flying carpet. Sarah nearly got sick on the twisty blizzard things. Bumper cars leave bruises, not nice ones at that. After the carnival it was home to bed. Staying up till 3 and getting up at half 8 is not a good thing. Wensday 29th: Up early breakfast consumed and wash done. Out to Zwolle. Nice town, very busy with the local market. Back home for a river swim and the dinner which was the worst sauce ever. Owen spend 2 euros for decent sauce. Adam had a …. which Sarah was not allowed used so she turned into a troll and fell of the bench. Great fun. Bed time. Thursday 30th: got up early, took down. The lats cleaned the site and put all the wood back. After this we made our way to the train. Our crippled Shetland pony had to leave in advance to get to the ….. on time. Got the direct train to Zwolle where Burger king was the meal of choice. Eoin does not like cheese but still ate it. I know its weird. Got to Rotterdam and we got the metro and some of us did not get off the train so had to get off at the next stop and come back. Our pony was getting a jockey back and fell over. Lean forward pony. Back on site was a warm welcome and some archery. It’s always good to have a taste to eat your dinner and tea afterwards. P.s I can’t spell so good
